The South West Thames Institute for Renal Research is a unique centre dedicated to the treatment of renal disease and the care of renal patients.

Due to its location adjacent to a large and busy renal unit, its involvement with patients and its high quality laboratory research, the Institute addresses the important issues of kidney disease from a number of perspectives.

In addition to supporting clinical research within the hospital, the Institute specialises in laboratory based research, primary care research and diagnostic research.

Helier Scientific Ltd is a sister organisation to the Institute; an independent company set up to help raise funds for research. The company offers an assay service for the analysis and interpretation of a range of specialised research diagnostic tests.
