Graduated at King’s College Hospital Medical School. Received junior medical training in King’s, St Helier, St George’s and Royal London Hospitals. Carried out research in renal bone disease and carbamylated haemoglobin in uraemia. Formerly Lecturer in Medicine at the Royal London Medical College. Appointed as a Consultant at St Helier in 1994.

  SERVICE GROWTH & IMPROVEMENT  
 
  • Ten years ago, we had 14 inpatient beds, 16 in-centre dialysis stations, 4 outreach sites and no satellite dialysis unit. We now have 48 inpatient beds, 34 in-centre dialysis stations, 13 outreach clinic sites and 5 satellite dialysis units.

  RESEARCH  
  I am a Director Member of the South West Thames Kidney Fund which manages the South West Thames Institute for Renal Research. I am heavily involved in the running of the Institute as well as ongoing fund raising to maintain the financial solvency of the Institute. Renal Research contributes a quarter of all Trust research output annually. Renal Research at St Helier has been given a “Strong” rating by the NHS R & D Research Assessment Exercise.
