Dr Bending qualified in 1969 after studying at Cambridge University . He subsequently obtained an MSc in Biochemistry in 1975 and was awarded his FRCP in 1987. Previously he worked for six years as a Lecturer in Medicine at the former Westminster Hospital before being appointed Consultant Nephrologist and Physician at St Helier Hospital in 1982.
At St.Helier, Dr. Bending has been very active in both teaching and research and he is the founder Chairman of the SW Thames Kidney Fund and Clinical Director of the S W Thames Institute for Renal Research.
