Innovative Patient Guided Research Into Mediators and Markers of Renal Disease
The SWT Institute for Renal Research was born out of a partnership between renal patients and their clinicians. The patients formed a charity formerly know as The SW Thames Kidney Fund, nowsimply The Kidney Fund and worked with the SW Thames Renal Unit at St Helier Hospital to build The Institute.

The Kidney Fund continues to dedicate its effort in support of The Institute and is one of the main funders.
More information on The Kidney Fund including ways to donate to support our research can be found at .

The Institute has also received funding from Kidney Research UK, The Department of Helath, The Tom and Sheila Springer Trust, The Genzyme Renal Innovations Programme, Ortho-Cliincal Diagnostics and the SEEDA.
